Honda has launched its contender for the booming compact SUV market, introducing a new CR-V for the Australian market.
The car features a raft of changes including a larger body, new seven-seat interior option and a turbocharged engine with the option of front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.
Honda Australia director Stephen Collins says the new CR-V is "really critical to our future", helping wrestle customers away from the likes of Mazda's CX-5.
"We're really looking forward to providing a seven-seat option and regaining serious competitiveness in that segment," he says.
"There are some very good cars in that segment but we are confident that CR-V can match it with the best of them.
"We've got to nail it. We've got to be good value for money."
